This is a continuation of my pandemic distraction of taking sunrise photos
on almost every day one is visible.
Each set of images is preceded by a personally written haiku
describing how I felt on the day they were taken.
Day 853 - 944
(Jul 1 - Sep 30)
For this one moment
Nothing matters more to me
Than seeing you smile
Hidden by the storm
A glow on the horizon
Welcomes a new day
You have changed my life
Whether you know it or not
Forever grateful
Like oil and water
Some things don't go together
But make you wonder
Arise from your sleep
Battle the wind and the cold
Get out there and live
The growing darkness
Bringing summer to an end
A chill in the air
Enchanted forests
Summits ablaze in fog fire
Fanned by morning wind
Remove the darkness
That lingers within our souls
Embrace us with light
She did it again
As I watched with amazement
Humbled to the core
Experience awe
In everything that you do
And refresh your soul
Diminished by clouds
Still beautiful nonetheless
So good to see you
Each morning we meet
And without speaking, we talk
Exchanging hellos
So good to see you
In the place where you belong
Brightening our day
A sliver of light
A blue/gray ocean of clouds
A moody display
I bring you a world
Of peaceful serenity
And unmatched beauty
A white ball of fire
Rising before most wake up
To brighten our day
We live in a world
Filled with unbounded beauty
I wish we could touch
The first light of day
Over the hills that I love
Soul replenishing
Thinly scattered clouds
Colored by morning starlight
Welcomed the new day
Comfortably cool
A change of season begins
Bring on the color
A morning with friends
Making precious memories
Sharing the sunrise
Don't leave us August
Just when we were feeling good
September stormed in
I look to the skies
In amazement and wonder
Thankful for my life
Rise above the clouds
Then breathe in all the sunshine
Better days begin
Begin to accept
Her boundless capacity
And just embrace it
You live besides me
The shadow of my shadow
Never to escape
When less becomes more
The beauty of what remains
Comes into focus
The approaching rain
Highlighted by the sunrise
Harbinger of hope
From a bed of fog
Under a blanket of clouds
She rose into view
Lost between two worlds
Over a field of lava
Apocalypse now
Seeing distortion
Momentarily alters
My usual view
How does one define
A beauty beyond belief
Using just twelve words
Anticipation
What will you show me today?
I can't wait to see
Just another day
With just another sunrise
One captured with love
Beauty surrounds us
Much like a grandmother's hug
One just has to look
The chill of cold air
The warmth of a hat and coat
The beauty of morn'
The moon and the sun
Mostly strangers in our sky
Double header fun
Astounding beauty
Resulting from cloudy skies
Filled the morning sky
When clouds block the view
I shift my focus elsewhere
To find the beauty
Her mood was pronounced
Even her light had turned dark
Nightfall at daybreak
Heat advisories
Keep pets and people inside
To enjoy my pics
A companion soul
Flies high in the morning sky
Soaring with my dreams
Is this just a dream?
My mind cannot comprehend
How can this be real?
Her moment to shine
Momentarily delayed
Keeping me in check
If life is defined
By moments that take your breath
I must say, I've lived
The fog has vanished
Exposing valley beauty
A new day begins
Untethered beauty
Over an ocean of fog
Simply breathtaking
Shadows in the fog
Cast by the morning sunrise
Over fields of green
Mysterious sunlight
Along with an eerie fog
A mystical treat
When her light is dark
And her fire is suppressed
Her strength continues to shine
Shaped by wind and rain
Hills and valleys lay dormant
Lit up by the sun
Contrasts of morning
Light and dark. White and black.
Shadows and color
No clouds in the skies
But a gentle breeze to cool
Only brief relief
With the passage of time
How easily we forget
Winters brutal cold
My heart is racing
Your beauty never fails me
And then you do this
She's not always clear
Which makes me sit and wonder
What's in store today?
Passageway of light
A portal into her soul
Beauty unfolded
Greeted by her glow
Squeezed like a grandmothers hug
Embraced for the day
A thought for today
To want what you cannot have
Makes you need it more
A conversation
Between myself and others
Begins with hello
She speaks with no voice
With volume we all can hear
Leaving no questions
My purpose in life
Though sometimes blurred or distant
Becomes apparent
This is just a taste
Of what I see every day
Nature at its best
As night turns to day
The glow from the morning sun
Washed darkness away
Morning's early fog
Meandered through the meadow
Summer on the pond
Hope in the morning
And something to believe in
Timing is an art
Life's trajectory
Keeps me coming back for more
Shadows on our star
Heavy was the dew
Scattered about from rainfall
Morning of mystique
If the sun rises
And no-one is there to see it
Was there any color?
She parted the skies
With shades of orange and blue
Her morning palette
Her landscape was dark
Blocked by external forces
Searching for escape
